Welcome to The Nurse's Refuge, a space created by nurses for nurses, and anyone interested in nursing or medicine. Built by two experienced bedside nurses with a passion for helping others and a need for a good outlet when emotions run high, this website is full of stories, lessons, and family for anyone to enjoy. Even if you have no medical background, stories are written in a way for everyone to understand and appreciate.

OUR SITE
If you're here for real-world nursing stories, head to the blog page. Stories are categorized so that you can read what's important to you with ease. After a traumatizing shift, you may want more uplifting stories than sad ones. Or if you are interested in getting into the nursing career and want an accurate picture of the emotional roller-coaster it entails, maybe you'd rather read the sad stories. Each post is written from the heart, full of raw emotions and human experiences that readers can relate to. Most posts have a "moral to the story" added, because many of our experiences teach lessons as well.
We are also starting a forum for people to engage and discuss their situations, feelings, ideas, stories, etc. WE ONLY ASK THAT YOU MAINTAIN PATIENT AND FAMILY PRIVACY AT ALL TIMES. Our stories are HIPAA-compliant. Any posts or comments in violation of HIPAA will be removed.
On our resources page, we are gradually adding materials for guiding people through any stage of their nursing career, from prospective nurse to student nurse to experienced nurse. Read up on useful tips and strategies to help make your journey a little bit easier.
